Who We Are
We are entrepreneurs first and investors second. We created Tradewind because we were frustrated with the status quo of short term thinking and buy-to-flip attitude common of investors in software companies. We understand and appreciate that great software companies exist at all sizes and that small companies often provide the mission-critical systems that power the industries of the modern economy. Our desire is to partner with the founders and management teams of these essential businesses and nurture their steady growth over decades.
Our Leadership
Phillip Beatty
Phillip is an entrepreneur and investor who has spent more than a decade partnering with founders and management teams to grow and transition their businesses to the next generation. He is based in New York City and is a director on the board of the Washington Speakers Bureau.
Phillip has a B.A. in Classics from Hampden-Sydney College.
Beckham Thomas
Beckham is an entrepreneur, investor, and founder of Trnsact, the leading fintech company focused on the digitization of the commercial equipment financing process. He is based in New York City and is also the co-founder of the best chain of delis in Southern California.
Beckham has a J.D. from Whittier Law School, an MBA from Wharton, and a B.S. in Economics from George Washington University.
